New wigbi.com and wigbi.com/demos up soon

I have rewritten wigbi.com and wigbi.com/demos and will release them together with Wigbi 0.99.2.

The new versions of the web sites feature the possibility to rate and discuss various parts of the page. The demo site lets visitors discuss and rate each class that is included in the Wigbi framework, while the official site, for now, lets visitors discuss and rate the various video tutorials that are available.

The new official web site also makes use of the new RssFeedEntryList control to display feeds from the WordPress blog.

New controls and seeds

The Wigbi 0.99.2 release contains a few new controls and seeds, which will be demonstrated at http://www.wigbi.com/demos as soon as the release is up.

New seeds:

• Activity – a general activity with a name, description, location etc.
• City – a general city with a name, coordinates etc.
• Comment – a general comment that can be applied to anything at all
• Country – a general country with a name, coordinates etc.
• Forum, ForumThread & ForumThreadEntry – a full forum data model
• Location – a general location with a name and coordinates

New controls:

• CommentForm – comment just about anything
• ObjectList – easily list any objects
• RssFeedEntryList – list entries from any RSS feed
• TextHighlightExtender – highlight certain parts of a text

New RSS feed control available in Wigbi 0.99.2

I have just developed a cool control called RssFeedEntryList, which will list a certain number of entries from any RSS feed. It is not based on the ObjectList, but instead just list the header, link and text of each entry.

The RssFeedEntryList control will be available in the upcoming Wigbi 0.99.2 release.
