New controls and seeds

The Wigbi 0.99.2 release contains a few new controls and seeds, which will be demonstrated at http://www.wigbi.com/demos as soon as the release is up.

New seeds:

• Activity – a general activity with a name, description, location etc.
• City – a general city with a name, coordinates etc.
• Comment – a general comment that can be applied to anything at all
• Country – a general country with a name, coordinates etc.
• Forum, ForumThread & ForumThreadEntry – a full forum data model
• Location – a general location with a name and coordinates

New controls:

• CommentForm – comment just about anything
• ObjectList – easily list any objects
• RssFeedEntryList – list entries from any RSS feed
• TextHighlightExtender – highlight certain parts of a text

New ObjectList control in Wigbi 0.99.2

I have just finished developing a convenient list control that can be used to list any collection of objects in a very convenient way. Just add items and define a start and stop string (e.g. “<ul>” and “</ul>”) as well as a function that will be used to build each list item (e.g. a function that returns “<li>Foo</li>”, “<li>Bar</li>” etc.)  and the control will handle itself.

This new control makes it really easy to implement paging for a page, since it is not responsible for any data handling whatsoever. Just load a new collection of objects in any way, then just push all the items you want to display into the list.

The ObjectList control will be available in Wigbi 0.99.2
